Harcourt Fuller, Ph.D.
Dr. Fuller has been interviewed and quoted by media outlets such as The New York Times, The 6th Floor Blog of The New York Times Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, Le Monde (France), and the Jamaica Gleaner. In addition, he has appeared on radio and television programs such as Deutsche Welle (DW) - Germany's international broadcaster, United Nations Radio, Radio Jamaica Radio (RJR), Nationwide Radio 90.3FM Jamaica, WQHT 97.1 FM (“Hot 97” FM) New York, and WRFG 89.3FM, WATB 1420AM, WGFS 1430AM, and WWWE 1100AM in Atlanta. He has also been interviewed on United Nations Web TV, Channel 5 WCSC (Charleston, SC), TeleMundo 47 WNJU, and Profile with Ian Boyne on Television Jamaica (TVJ). His lecture on “Slavery and Abolition in Peru” was broadcast on WBUR 90.9FM (Boston’s NPR radio station) as part of the Boston University "World of Ideas" weekly one-hour series, delivered in honor of the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the Atlantic Slave Trade by Britain and the United States.
Earlier in his career, as Producer and On-Air Broadcaster for Harlem Community Radio (WHCR 90.3 FM) and Manhattan Neighborhood Network’s (MNN) cable TV Channel 16, Dr. Fuller’s programs provided “edutainment,” world music and special programing, often recorded in locations in the U.S., the Caribbean and South America. He also worked as editor and publicist for poets/spoken word artists, securing for them appearances on media programs such as the Fox 5 New York syndicated TV show Good Day New York with Anchorwoman Lyn Brown. Back then as a freelance writer, he researched and published articles and opinion editorials on Africana history, culture and current events, that appeared in international, national, regional and local newspapers and magazines such as the New York Daily News, the Manhattan Times, the New York Carib News, the Weakly Gleaner (N.A.), the Jamaica Observer, Caribbean Life, Everybody's Caribbean Magazine, Washington Report on the Hemisphere, and Barter News.
